This is one of my favorite lessons and exercises.

I have a diagram to go with this explanation.

I use the G major scale at the third Fret.

Simply Tap each note three times and go up the scale 4 notes. then repeat but start on the second note of the scale and go up 4 notes. Keep repeating starting on the next note of the scale. Do this for two octaves.

3rd Fret 2nd Finger
4th Fret 3rd Finger
5th Fret 4th Finger
